There have recently been a series of meetings between the different support teams, through which we were able to identify tools, libraries and services developed and maintained by our international offices.
Sometimes we already were aware of these tools, sometimes not. Sometimes different teams were working on similar projects and the effort could be combined.
The idea is to know more of what's going on in the other offices and collaborate more with each other.
The first step is having a common place for our source code.
The source code for most of this tools will be migrated to the Weborama's self hosted gitlab, and Tier 2 will provide support for those who are not so familiar with git. (Here is a link to Bob's Git crash-course)
Each team will of course maintain full control of their own software, allowing access as desired.
It's good to have a central document to list all of our tools, so it's easy to know what's available.
This is the first article in the 'support tools series', which will contain updates and tutorials about all the internal tools made available by Tier1 and Tier2 support teams.
