Sometimes we need to use an external data file (XML, JSON, etc.) for a Rich Media creation. Most commonly to extract and display certain information.
In order to assure proper ad performance, assets that are loaded from remote locations are mirrored to our reliable global CDN. Our servers will synchronize your file(s) every 15 minutes to make sure that your ad is up-to-date, making "live" content possible.
What you need to do is simple. Instead of loading the file directly from a public URL source, copy/save its content as a local file and place it in the same folder as your creation so that you can use a local source path (e.g., live_feed.xml).
Once your creation is ready to go live and you click on "Notify Weborama", simply let us know that you want an asset to be mirrored/synchronized with an absolute and public URL path. For example, "Please mirror live_feed.xml with www.nieuws.nl/live_feed.xml.".
This can be done with any kind of text files, for example XML, JSON, CSV and TXT.
Image Import
Images listed in a data file can be imported as well every time the proxy tool does an update.
If absolute image paths are mentioned in the data file, for example www.site.com/images/image1.jpg, we can also detect them and re-export them into the live ad media files. This means that new images can be added or overwritten while being live.
In order to make use of this additional image-import feature, the image paths provided in the data file must be absolute. All relative image paths will be ignored, which can be used as exceptions if needed.
If you have any question about our proxy tool, please contact us at support@weborama.nl.
