Projects
An ad set has to be made in a project. We have already created "Project 01" for all new companies, but you're free to add as many as you want.
Please note: if you use Weborama publication, every project you create in the adstudio will result in a creative folder per project. All ad sets in this project will create creatives in this folder.
Template Project
The Template project is a special project, any ad set created here will automatically be a template ad set. This means that certain users can access and edit them, and allow the rest of the company to make copies (derive) from these templates into their own projects. The derived ad set allows users to only edit the shared properties of an ad set. This means that you can set up an elaborate ad set in the templates, and have users use the template to only focus on managing the message, and not worry about actions and animations.
Ad Set
An Ad set is a collection of banners, all focussed to deliver the same message in different sizes. These banners make use of a number of elements which they share amongst each other, registered in a so-called library. You can have as many banners as you want in an adset, but we generally recommend not having too many of the same size in one.
Template ad set
A template ad set works the same way as any normal ad set, except for three major differences:
- it can only be made in a Template Project (any ad set made in this project is automatically a template ad set)
- it can only be edited by Administrators
- it cannot be published
These are meant to give the user a fully functional set in which the content has been prepared and pre-filled so that the user can make derived sets out of this template. While you are working on a template ad set, it will not be available to the users of the company until you enable the slider in the ad set manager screen.
Please note: When you update a template adset, it will not update all the ad sets that used the template as a base.
Derived Ad set
A Derived Ad set is basically a copy of a Template set, and only the Library elements can be edited. At this point, only Administrators can still open the Editor to make some small changes, but we encourage fixing these things in the Templates, so that you do not have to do this every time.
When you create an ad set, you can check the option "use a template", to make use of a template that's available for your company.
