Even though the use of video in Rich Media has been around for many years now, we still get questions about its limitations and possibilities. In this article we mention the most important ones and explain how our platform and tools can help overcome them.
Automatic Tracking
All video tags included in HTML ads are automatically tracked when booked in our platform. This means user interaction events (play, pause, resume, mute and unmute) and progress events (25%, 50%, 75% and complete).
Our Player and Controls
Even though video tags are automatically tracked, we recommend to use our Video Player and our Custom Controls because it fixes some platform-dependent bugs and gives you controls over wat controls to show and lets you customize them as well.
Autoplay on Mobile Devices
Videos in HTML5 banners can autoplay on mobile devices with iOS 10.x and Chrome 53.x and up video autoplay is supported, as long as the video is muted. By using our Video API you can easily set this:
autoplay: true,
muted: true
Currently, autoplay is only available by playing inline. It is not possible to autoplay the fullscreen device player, only user initiated.
Unfortunately it is not possible to autoplay videos on mobile websites and mobile applications lower than iOS 10 and Chrome 53. Weborama does have an alternative method to make it possible to autoplay your video on all mobile devices.

Currently, autoplay is only supported in iOS 10 and Chrome, not in all device browsers. Chrome is available on phones and tablets running Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean). On Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), Chrome version 42 and lower will work, but cannot be updated.
